Global Child Advocates (GCA) is an international NGO registered as a Thai Foundation and a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Since 2009, our teams have worked across Thailand and Myanmar to protect children and strengthen families in some of the region’s most vulnerable communities.
GCA is a dedicated team of child protection specialists whose mission is to strengthen the layers of protection around children to prevent abuse, trafficking, and exploitation. Position Summary
As GCA expands youth programming in Mae Sot and surrounding migrant communities, English education has become a critical pathway for long-term protection and opportunity. The English Teacher will play a key role in equipping vulnerable youth with language skills, confidence, and mentorship that open doors to education, employment, and a safer future. It is a relational investment in the long-term protection and flourishing of youth at risk of trafficking, early marriage, and school dropout.
For migrant youth in Mae Sot, English proficiency is a powerful tool for protection and opportunity.

Key Responsibilities
Spend time with Jesus daily and invite God to lead your work with youth
Uphold a Christ-centered culture of humility, excellence, and servant leadership
Teach English curriculum in GCA Child & Family Protection Centers and local schools
Develop engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans focused on practical communication
Mentor youth in leadership, confidence, and essential life skills
Support students in preparing for internships, vocational pathways, and employment opportunities
Build meaningful, consistent relationships with students through encouragement and presence
Collaborate with GCA staff to integrate education into holistic child protection programming
Participate in team meetings for prayer, planning, and program coordination
Maintain clear records of student progress and attendance
Ensure all programming aligns with GCA’s Child Safeguarding Policy
Person Specification
This is a full-time position for a motivated, mission-driven individual passionate about investing in youth and cross-cultural ministry.
Essential Qualifications
Native or first-language English speaker
Certification in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL/TEFL) or equivalent experience
Experience teaching, mentoring, or working with youth preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Cultural humility and ability to work cross-culturally
Must be legally eligible to work in Thailand
Alignment with GCA’s Christian faith and values, with an active and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
High level of personal integrity, adaptability, and emotional resilience
