Reigate Grammar School

Job Description
RGS has expanded its operations in China over the past few years and is looking to open a
secondary school section in Shenzhen.
We are looking for passionate individuals to join the Shenzhen teaching team.
– Position: Teacher
– Subjects: Mathematics, Arts (Drama/ Music/ Dance), History, Chemistry/Biology,
English, Business/ Economics
– Student age group: 14-18 years old (IGCSE – A-levels)

Responsibilities
• Teaching based on the School’s curriculum and integrating other learning objectives
and activities
• Develop lesson plans, adapt curriculum to meet individual student needs, and utilize
effective teaching techniques to achieve a productive and efficient student learning
experience
• Devise techniques to measure student progress. Evaluate and track records for
student’s academic and personal growth, and prepare regular reports
• Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss academic
and personal progress
• Communicate and cooperate with other professional staff in academic and personal
growth areas
• Utilize computers and other technological classroom support equipment in teaching
• Maintain classroom organization and discipline
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve a sound and
functional learning atmosphere
• Provide and maintain a safe and supervised environment in the classroom and on the
school grounds

Other responsibilities
• Create an effective learning environment through functional and attractive displays,
bulletin boards, and student centers
• Participate in faculty meetings, committees and sponsorship of student activities
• Maintain professional competency through education activities provided by the
School, and through self-selected professional development activities
• Perform other job duties as required

Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree or above, Master’s Degree preferred
• At least 2-year A-levels teaching experience
• Ability to offer a variety of high quality after-school/ extra-curricular activities
• Strong passion and commitment in education, teaching, and students
• English as an Additional Language/TESOL teaching certification or similar
degree/training preferred
• Specialized in immersive or bilingual English language acquisition preferred
• A respectful listener, effective communicator and experience in coaching
• Willingness to participate in boarding duties preferred
