Internship start date: Spring- Feb/March 2024 & Fall- August/Sept. 2024

 

This program is designed for individuals who would like practicum experience in home tutoring and substituting while traveling and learning a new culture. This internship allows you to experience actual ESL and subject teaching without making a long term commitment until you are ready to pursue a teaching career abroad. Our team is ready to offer you support throughout your internship!

 

JOB DETAILS:

Internship working hours: 20 hours a week (Substitute teacher working hours is from 8am to 4:30 pm in a Kindergarten, Primary, Middle or High School which will be equivalent to 4 working hours).

Working days: 5 days a week, 2 days off on weekdays.

Location: Shanghai as base. The company will also assign to tutor or substitute in different cities in China during which the company will cover the intern’s traveling cost (train or flight ticket), hotel accommodation and meal allowance (100 RMB per day).

 

REQUIREMENTS:

-A valid passport

-Native level English fluency

-No previous teaching experience necessary;

-In good health condition – duly filled up health checklist (checklist will be provided by Shanghai Meiji)

-Police certificate/Non-criminal record certificate

-TEFL 120 hours or TESOL certificate

-Friendly and adventurous!

-Passionate about teaching young learners.

-Patient and hard working.

 

ARRIVAL SUPPORT:

-Airport Pick-Up.

-Hotel accommodation for the first 3 days

-New Chinese SIM Card assistance.

-Escorted to your accommodation.

 

TRAINING AND PLACEMENT:

-Orientation and on-board training from our Shanghai team

-Attend training with our professional staff trainer in preparation for interviews and demos, which most schools will require.

-Provide continuous training and teaching tips throughout the internship program.

 

BENEFITS:

1) Free shared accommodation throughout internship will be

provided. (Private room in a shared apartment)

2) Interns shall receive a monthly living allowance of 5,000 CNY.

3) 4,000 CNY air ticket allowance will be provided upon

completion of the internship program.

4) Free tuition for mandarin Chinese language lesson (40 hours, 1

teacher: 2 students arrangement).

5) HSK test cost will be covered (Chinese Language proficiency

test HSK Level 1)

6) Traveling opportunities in different cities in China when

substituting, travel tickets, hotel and food allowance provided.
